Andy Coote - Director
![]() | Andrew has over twenty-five years experience in developing and using information systems, specialising in managing location-enabled applications. He has held senior management positions in both the public and private sector in the UK, Seychelles and Middle East. His undergraduate degree was in Land Surveying and Geography, he also holds an M.Sc in Computer Science from University College London and a diploma in Company Direction. He is currently Chief Executive of ConsultingWhere, an independent IT consultancy specialising in providing strategic information technology and business advice. His particular expertise lies in business case development, spatial data infrastructures, team building and programme management. Since forming ConsultingWhere, he has undertaken a number of international assignments, including facilitator for the Address theme data specification as part of the European Union INSPIRE programme and business strategy studies for software companies in New Zealand, Russia and Egypt. In addition, he delivers regular training in business case development and led a ground-breaking study on the economic value of geospatial data to UK local government. He is currently an external advisor to the New Zealand Geospatial Office which is responsible for their NSDI initiative. In his previous role at ESRI (UK) he managed a team of 100 programme managers, solution architects, software engineers, trainers and technical support staff. Before that he worked for Ordnance Survey where he was responsible for managing and developing national topographic database systems and in Seychelles as a licensed land surveyor.
